People have long been in the habit of using devices for a certain purpose. When that purpose has been achieved they are also in the habit of throwing whatever material is left over into the garbage. This behavior has been difficult to change and is still apparent when people use renewable items like Brother toner cartridges. Many of these unit wind up in landfills each year.
